ath9k_hw: check if the chip failed to wake up
In an RFC patch, Sven Eckelmann and Simon Wunderlich reported: "QCA 802.11n chips (especially AR9330/AR9340) sometimes end up in a state in which a read of AR_CFG always returns 0xdeadbeef. This should not happen when when the power_mode of the device is ATH9K_PM_AWAKE." Include the check for the default register state in the existing MAC hang check. req/ondemand legacy p-state mode. Or second, the "performance" governor can be used with intel_pstate, which will modify HWP.EPP to 0. Or third, starting in 4.10, the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy*/energy_performance_preference attribute in can be updated from "balance_power" to "performance". Or fourth, apply this patch, which fixes the erroneous setting of MSR_IA32_POWER_CTL BIT_EE on this model, allowing the default configuration to function as designed.
